LightSaber Effect Trouble
Shooting
1.First, edit your entire lightsaber
scene without drawing any of the blades on. that way if you decide
to cut a shot, you didn't waste all day editing that piece. Plus you
will need a copy without the glowing blades to fix up some photoshop
problems when you're done (see step 3.)
2. When editing, edit
the saber that is FURTHEST from the camera before you edit the
one(s) closest to it. If the blade from a saber 20 feet away is
overlapping the saber 2 feet away, its gonna look pretty screwy.
3. Filmstrips can sabatoge your blades, because the shine
off of a blade near the top of the screen will be shown on the
bottom of the next frame. This can be solved by splitscreening the
the unedited clip (see step one) over where this unwanted glow is.
4. These blades don't show up very well on white, so try not
to film this on a bright cloudy day, or against any other white
background.
