STEP THREE: Start rotoscoping the blades.

Draw a path around the blade that is FURTHEST from the camera by clicking on the each of the four corners of the white part of the saber.

For Example:

Click once here.

Put next click on this corner.

Click once on corner 3.

And once more on corner 4

Now you need to close off the path by clicking once on the first box you made!
You know it is closed of when the little boxes disappear!

Now, DOUBLE-CLICK on the name of the path, you must click right on the name!

If you did it right, the following box should come up.

This is where you choose your lightsaber color. To get the following colors, you must type in the name EXACTLY as it is shown.

AVAILABLE COLORS
White
Silver
Gold
Purple
Blue
Light Blue
Green
Yellow
Orange
Red

Those are the only colors available and you must type them with the first letter being capital!!!

I chose the following color for Matt's blades.

Click Ok.

Now make a path around the top blade, but this time you don't have to choose the color.

Notice how this time the path didn't fill in with a color. That means it will be the same color as you just set, in this case it was yellow.

Scroll down to the second frame and draw paths around Matt's blades.

STEP FOUR: The fun part!

In the ACTIONS tab expand the SABERS-LIGHT SETTING folder by clicking on the triangle to the left of it

Next, scroll down to the Yellow Saber setting and push the play button.

If all went well, you're sabers should look like this. If not click here for troubleshooting.

If the blades turned out to your liking then go to LAYER> FLATTEN IMAGE.

Then in the paths tab, select the yellow path and push the trash can icon to delete it. That way, if you do blades of the same color, it won't redo these ones.

STEP FIVE: The other blade.

Just follow the steps as above, except choose a different blade color if you wish.

As you're doing the second blade you may notice something different. The blade is not a perfect shape!

What we do is just draw a path around the whole blade, and when it is playing back it will look as if it is swinging.

Finish the rest of the steps, andy your filmstrip is now done.
