I'm using still pictures to save space in this tutorial but you can also use videos.
Drag your footage to the timeline, but be sure to put your greenscreen footage in VIDEO 2. Next, RIGHT-CLICK the footage in video 2 and select Video Options> Transparency. ![]()
You should now have a screen that looks like this. In the KEY TYPE field select CHROMA. use the ink dropper tool(which is automatically selected) in the circled area to select what color to key out. Try to pick the shade of green that is not too dark or too light. Drag the triangle underneath the similarity setting to the right until all your green is removed, it also helps to change the smoothing setting to HIGH. if it isn't quite right just play around with the other settings untill all the green is removed. The following settings worked for this project. ![]() If your background footage doesn't show up you probably need to click on the preview icon which an arrow is pointing to in the above picture.
