Biography
Darcy started out training as an actor in theatre school with a love for films. At that time, the digital video revolution was starting to make its mark, and people were shouting the praises of computers for their ability to edit video for a fraction of what it would have cost just 5 years earlier. Online, short film web sites were cropping up like wildfires, and everyone was sharing what they knew about making movies on the cheap.
With the money he made one summer between semesters of acting school, working as an operator at the phone company making "big people" wages, Darcy eschewed his original plans of spending the money on his education in place of yet another student loan and instead invested in a miniDV camcorder and a computer loaded with a real time accelerator card and Adobe Premiere 5.1. Soon after, he discovered the Adobe Premiere forum, and the rest is pretty much history.
Today Darcy is still focused on acting, but it is not his main pursuit in life. He currently works as a freelance video editor, motion graphic designer and DVD author under a freelance organization he created called Tilting Star Designs. Through Tilting Star, Darcy is able to offer his clients other services not within his own realm of doing by having other talented freelancers available within his freelance hub. This way, Darcy maintains an active relationship with his clients, and also provides work for his fellow freelancing friends and associates without them having to find it themselves.
